taking a little study break today
i decided to take a walk around the garden...

came across a fallen palm leaf stump
that looked interesting...

sort of like a giant seed pod.

so i decided to make it into a hat...

as you do

well it IS the time of year for millinery here

though not quite 'fashions on the field'

today i photographed a buddhist wedding...
in a very beautiful woodland glade.

guests were asked to place stones in a glass bowl,
stones energised with their well-wishes
for the happy couple

and in a very community-oriented celebration
Kurt and Kathy
became united before their friends and family

it was a simple, yet beautiful ceremony
and i was honoured to be there.
