a very generous colleague has entrusted his Nikon D80 to me for a week
so that i can play around and see if i like it
before purchasing one of my own.

i can't afford the upgraded model of this (which is the D90)
but am seriously considering the D60

$1500 is a lot of cashola, so i want to be sure i am getting what i really want
